DevOps Engineer

We are excited to be partnering with Volpara Solutions to assist in the recruitment of multiple key roles in their fast-growing company. We are looking for customer centric, highly analytical and passionate Product Managers to drive the performance of their key solutions.

With a presence in 35 countries worldwide and continued growth since listing on the ASX, Volpara Solutions is further growing their Wellington based R&D team in-order to deliver more value to their customers. Their teams are dedicated to speeding up the diagnosis process for detecting breast cancer, by creating market leading software and tools – and with recently regulatory changes in the US their products are becoming a market standard.

About this Role: 

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring products can effortlessly be delivered to users and customers using different distribution mechanism and methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architecting, maintaining, and streamlining our automated build and release pipeline from code compilation, automated testing, to deploying releases to multiple environments.
  • Developing automated tools to provision, deploy, monitor and alert on our cloud and on-premise applications.
  • Maintaining source control branches and performing integrations with merge conflicts.
  • Facilitating and championing the quick resolution of problems found during the daily build and deployment efforts.
  • Managing customer installation configurations.
  • Be available as part of an out of hours on-call team to address any critical customer problems and meet commitments to Service Level Agreements
  • Creating and maintaining documentation of the build/release process.
  • Investigating and developing tools and processes and integrating them so that they can improve the reliability, stability and efficiency with which we release our services.
  • Working closely with the development team to integrate new deployment processes and strategies to meet our feature requirements.
  • Support development teams in developing automated tests.

Experience Needed

  • 3 years of experience with C# and .NET in a professional environment (or similar).
  • Experience of using package management systems such as NuGet (or similar)
  • Good understanding of security concepts, especially PKI
  • Experience of developing and debugging SQL
  • Strong knowledge of VSTS, Azure and Octopus Deploy (or similar)
  • Experience of working in an Agile workflow
  • Strong programming skills. You’re expected to be able to read and understand code as well as develop necessary tools.
  • Strong knowledge of source control management and tools.
  • Knowledge of continuous build, release and deployment systems.
  • Strong knowledge of automated testing in a Visual Studio environment.
  • Scripting experience with batch / shell scripting in PowerShell, ideally in an Azure environment.
  • Experience of working in a Service organisation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable working within established code and process frameworks.
  • Proactive and self-motivated – willing to improve on existing processes to allow for faster iterations.
  • Strong track record of learning new tools and technologies.
