The Democracy Services team is a newly established group within Tauranga City Council team helps support our Elected Members and the communities we serve. The team is responsible for the delivery of high quality support and advice to provide for effective, efficient and lawful democratic processes and decision-making, management of complaints, and requests for information under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act and other legislation.

Democracy Services Advisors (two positions)

We are building a high performing team who will use their governance expertise and technical knowledge to deliver high quality and timely advice and services to both our internal and external customers.

Ideal candidates will be experienced, advisors who understands the business of local government and know the legislation surrounding the governance of Councils. You will be comfortable giving best practice strategic governance advice and ensuring well organised, seamless democratic functions are delivered. Relationships built on integrity and trust will be your forte and you will be able to influence across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders

Team Leader - Democracy Services

This is a challenging and exciting role for someone who has the right attitude and experience to develop a new team, build strong relationships, and to make a difference and significant contribution to providing quality advisory and democracy services. Our ideal candidate will be an experienced, savvy leader who understands the business of local government and knows the legislation surrounding the governance of Councils.

Administrator

We are looking for a bright, confident and proactive person to be the administrator and support for our democracy services team. You will have strong organisational & relationship building skills, attention to detail, process driven, and a focus on providing a customer first experience. You will have the opportunity to shape the processes and delivery of high-quality administrative support for the team's day-to-day business and democracy services projects.
