Architectural Technician / Draftsperson

This company has a strong name in the residential construction market. They have been successfully operating for over 20 years and they pride themselves on the high quality homes they build and the exceptional customer service they provide.

With new owners at the helm of the business this company are on a journey of positive change and growth. With an already established reputation in the market they have a strong pipeline of design and build projects secured.

The opportunity has arisen for a Draftsperson / Technician to join the business. You will be joining a team of 15 staff who bring a wealth of experience and knowledge in the residential construction industry.

Skills/experience:

  • 5+ years as a draftsperson / Technician
  • Knowledge of and experience in the New Zealand Residential construction industry
  • Experience in preparing building consent documentation and scheme plans
  • Knowledge of ArchiCAD would be advantageous but not essential
  • LBP 1 or 2 is beneficial but not essential
  • Be systems orientated and can work efficiently
  • Relevant qualifications are beneficial but not essential
  • Thorough knowledge of NZS3604

Duties:

  • Produce concept drawings (Floor Plans, Elevations and site plans)
  • Prepare contract drawings
  • Engage with external consultants E.g. Engineers, Contractors ect
  • Prepare building consent plans
  • Visit site (if required)
  • Liaise with relevant councils as needed
  • Manage and respond to RFIs
  • Provide Technical advice to the team
