The team at the Unipol Recreation Centre work to offer a huge choice of recreational activities, including cardio and weights, sports halls, group fitness, outdoor rental, social sport and Inter-College sport, culture and games.

Whether you are playing casual drop-in sports, stimulating the mind and body in a group fitness class, working out in the gym, surfing at St Clair or tramping, the Unipol Recreation Centre offers a wide range of facilities and equipment rental for student, staff and public use.

About the Role

This position plays an important role in helping to manage and coordinate the equipment rental as part of the Unipol Recreation Centre offering.

You will join the wider Campus and Collegiate Life family, focused on renting and maintenance for the rental equipment within the Recreation Centre.

A strong student based service ethic, great organisational skills and a passion for adventure and the outdoors is going to be of great benefit to you in this role. In exchange, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of outdoor recreation gear while also working to help our students enjoy and discover outdoor pursuits here in Dunedin and beyond.

Key Tasks:

  • Ensure equipment is tracked daily and regular inventories are run to supplement daily tracking.
  • Providing advice to University students and staff on outdoor equipment.
  • Working alongside the Manager Recreation Services on the purchasing of replacement equipment as required.
  • Keeping the rental area tidy and ensuring equipment is labelled.

Your Skills and Experience

  • To be successful in this role you will have:
  • A passion for and experience with adventure in the outdoors.
  • Relevant experience in maintaining outdoor equipment.
  • An ability to work in a busy recreation centre where the safety of students is your first priority.
