Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator - Whangamata

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to undertake programmed and reactive maintenance of wastewater and provide assistance within our complex SBR plant, based in Whangamata. This role will also provide support to our Pauanui site and call out duties for both areas as required.

As an operator you will:

  • operate and maintain the wastewater treatment plant
  • undertake general facility maintenance including installations and repairs
  • carry out plant operation sampling and testing
  • attend to plant and equipment breakdowns
  • take an active part in plant and equipment overhauls   
  • keep and maintain accurate records
  • respond to emergency events 
  • participate in an on-call roster (including public holiday’s, overtime and other sites)
  • a strong commitment to Veolia Health & Safety standards.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has a Level 4 or 5 qualification in wastewater or relevant field
  • has more than 3 years’ experience as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator or similar experience in wastewater operation and maintenance
  • has excellent communication skills and enjoys working in a team with a focus on delivering excellent service to the community.
