The Anglican Diocese of Nelson covers the top of the South Island with 24 parishes, commercial property and trust entities.  They are a network of vibrant churches that offer essential social services, education and support in local communities. Their small, positive and dedicated Finance Team provide financial accounting services and assistance to the wider Diocese group.  

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the management and preparation of the monthly and annual financial accounting and reporting requirements across the Diocese, Parishes, Trust Board and other entities. You will provide advice and support around financial management, taxation and commercial properties.  Currently implementing a system change to Xero, there may be some involvement in training and assisting to embed this across the Parishes. 
 
This position requires strong technical knowledge of accounting procedures and principles, combined with a solid base of financial accounting experience.  You will be very systems and process orientated, deadline driven and have a structured approach to your work. A people centred environment, you will be able to work with volunteers to ensure regular and accurate flow of financial information.  While this is a full time position, there is the option of flexibility for the right person.
