Teacher - Early Learning

About the role

We have two fabulous opportunities - one full-time and another for 20 hours per week - for registered teachers to work in partnership with parents and whānau to support their child's learning and ensure there is continuity between home and the Centre.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver a curriculum aligned to Te Whāriki
  • Plan, implement and evaluate a learning programme that is responsive to the strengths and interests of children
  • Promote learning opportunities that are inclusive, equitable and culturally responsive
  • Document children's learning and take responsibility for children's profile books and e-portfolio

Skills and Experience

  • Early childhood teaching qualification recognised by the Teaching Council of Aotearoa NZ 
  • Current Teaching Council Practising Certificate
  • Experience working as a teacher in an early childhood education team setting
  • Committed to making a difference by creating quality learning experiences for children, while building strong links with their whānau and families
  • Passion for respectful practice and sustainability
  • Resourceful, with a positive "can do" attitude and the ability to use your initiative
  • Excellent communication, time management, planning and organisation skills
