Internal Technical Sales Engineer

The Business

This is a leading business with unique capability in design and manufacture of specialised water and chemical holding tanks. They cover a number of markets but predominantly supply the industrial and construction sectors.  The business has seen very strong growth for a number of years and has invested in new machinery and new premises. This is a business on an exciting journey and now need to strengthen their internal team. This business has a real point of difference and a great reputation in the market – proven by the market share they’re winning!

 

The Role

This is a technical role with a high level of customer interaction. You’ll respond to incoming customer enquiries through a process of understanding the application, designing the product (some hydrostatic/seismic/etc analysis), develop costing and finally a quote for the customer. This is the perfect position for someone wanting to either step up to a Sales Engineer or a more technical Design Engineer position in the future. You might currently be internal sales or in a technical customer service, estimation or Application Engineer role. You will be given all the technical training required but you must come with a strong mechanical aptitude.

 

What you’ll bring:

  • A strong mechanical aptitude (NZCE/Engineering degree or equivalent professional experience)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential as you communicate with customers
  • Ability to manage your time and workload
  • IT savvy (you’ll use excel and the ERP system)
  • You can read engineering drawings
