Forest and Land Use Consultant

Woodnet is a privately owned Forestry and Land use company consulting to predominantly rural landowners, operating across New Zealand and located in the Wairarapa, with a well-established record of providing value to landowners with multiple tree species (including indigenous) and the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS).

We provide a wide range of services based around the forest industry, including Land use assessments, ETS/carbon consulting, forestry assessment and valuations, sales and marketing, operations and management.

We are looking for a consultant to join our team, whose key tasks will include:

  • Client interaction
  • Land use assessments including GIS, analysis, reports and site visits
  • ETS applications and assessments
  • Support with forest valuations and related activities

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication with proven client relationship management
  • Worked within a regional council, agricultural consulting or forestry company with a minimum of 2 years practical experience in using GIS mapping applications
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • A land related or forestry tertiary degree or equivalent knowledge
  • Competent basic GIS skills

The role is permanent, full-time and is based in our Wairarapa (Waingawa) office and can involve travel to work with other staff and clients further afield.  Applicants must hold a full NZ drivers license and have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
