Technical Officer

School of Engineering

Division of Health, Engineering, Computing and Science

We have an opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to provide technical support for the School of Engineering's research, teaching and commercial activities related to Mechanical or Materials and Process Engineering.

In this varied role you will demonstrate best practice in support of teaching and research for both academics and students and have experience in a wide range of traditional and new manufacturing processes including 3D printing.

You will be able to demonstrate your competence in operating and maintaining a large variety of plant and laboratory equipment including computer-aided engineering and manufacturing tools. Exceptional organisational and time management skills and proven trouble shooting and problem-solving skills are required. Knowledge of health and safety requirements and practices is crucial. Experience managing hazardous materials would be advantageous.

A relevant tertiary engineering qualification is an essential requirement together with an ability to work independently with a diverse range of staff, students and commercial clients. A current NZ full driver's licence is required.

Salary will be in the range of $57,574 to $69,292 per year, depending on qualifications, skills and experience.
