Quality Specialist - Fixed term

We now have an exciting opportunity for a new Quality Specialist, Fixed term for 12 months.

 

Your role will be to deliver the Quality assurance process and legislative requirements to ensure Countdown has safe, compliant and quality products within specifications for our customer. You will also need to analyse, monitor and collate key information to make informed decisions around quality, compliance and emerging trends.


You will be responsible for delivering products within various categories that are safe, meet regulatory requirements, policies, standards and customer quality expectations.
 

Some of your new responsibilities will be to:

  • Collaborate and partner with stakeholders to deliver Our Brand products in accordance with specifications, legislation, policies and standards within agreed timeframes
  • Ensure all Our Brand suppliers have appropriate risk assessments/audits and manage the outcomes to maintain supply
  • Respond to Our Brand customer complaints and work with suppliers to ensure complaints are investigated and appropriate preventive actions are put in place
  • Review results of the testing of products to ensure quality within relevant standards
  • Ensure appropriate and up to date quality specifications and records are kept
  • Provide the business with sound technical guidance and support
  • Supplier engagement to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Deliver Quality team objectives to contribute to the divisional strategy
  • Continuously improve QA work processes and systems
  • Coach and provide support to team members

 

You will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Relevant Degree or equivalent formal qualification in related discipline
  • Extensive demonstrated experience reviewing and releasing food/grocery/non-food products for retail/manufacturing purposes.
  • Proven technical experience in a manufacturing environment, in QA, auditing and/or Product Development roles
  • Sound knowledge of relevant industry standards as relates to Fresh Food, Long Life, Non-food or other Grocery goods
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Good attention to detail 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced culture of change
  • Ability to influence through internal and external relationships
  • Stakeholder engagement / management
  • Strong  communication skills
  • Proven risk assessment skills
  • Data Analysis / Insights experience
