Due to an internal transfer, we have an exciting permanent, part-time opportunity for a library assistant to work in our Lending Services Team. This position will be based at both our Otara and Manukau campuses. Our envisaged term time working patterns are Sundays and Mondays during the day, and two evening shifts (4-8pm, Tuesdays and Wednesdays). Some hours may change during semester breaks.

The main responsibilities are to assist with general library circulation duties and answering basic information enquiries.

It is essential to have excellent communication skills, a commitment to providing top quality customer service, proficiency at using information technology, a team focus and empathy to other cultures. A tertiary qualification is preferred and previous library experience is desirable.

This is an ideal entry level position. Preference will be given to a candidate who has started, or intends to study towards a career in librarianship.
