Precision Construction Ltd (PCL) are Auckland’s premium Residential Construction company, specializing in high end architectural homes, multi-unit developments and light commercial work and we are currently looking for a Health & Safety Officer / Manager to join our team!

PCL hold H&S as one of the key aspects of our business to ensure everyone goes home safely to their families - for our teams and our subs. We apply a proactive approach to H&S. Precision Construction is ACC WSMP Tertiary level certified, Impac PreQual 4star level certified, SiteWise Green Level certified and also Site Safe members.

We are looking for a motivated individual who is dedicated, experienced and hardworking to join our Team. This role will involve:

- Reporting to the General Manager 
- Upholding PCL H&S values and culture across the business
- Training and assisting Project teams with H&S matters
- Site visits to all sites upholding company standards, processes & requirements 
- Incident Investigations & proactively dealing with any issues or areas requiring escalation for resolution
- Valuable monthly reporting of H&S updates, insights and actions required 
- Living the business H&S Management Plan
- Keeping the business up to date with any regulatory changes
- Working closely with the H&S Administrator
- Working with the Operations Manager to ensure all Company assets are maintained & used in a safe manner at all times

Ideal candidates will have the following experience and skills:

- Minimum 4 years experience in NZ and minimum 4 years relevant work experience (H&S in construction industry)
- Be a positive team player who enjoys working in a team environment
- Practical approach to H&S on residential construction sites
- Experience in H&S Officer or Manager position for at least 3 years, with a proven track record of success
- Relevant qualification and/or certifications
- Experience with online based H&S systems
- Excellent communication skills, 
- Ability to manage H&S meetings including Toolbox Talks
- Good initiative, and an open and proactive approach 
- Good customer interface skills 
- Reliable 
- Good attention to detail
