About the role

In your role as Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the finance department of Hilton Auckland and co-manage the Hilton New Zealand finance team. You will report directly to the Director of Finance New Zealand and will be based in Auckland. Specifically you will be responsible for performance the following tasks to the highest standards:

 

  • Provide month end closing and all other required management/finance reports
  • Work with the DOF NZ and General Manager to provide full and accurate forecasting and budgeting proposals within the hotel
  • Assist in preparation of capital plans 
  • Develop best practice financial accounting and control procedures and continually review the process and procedures to maximize impact and efficiency
  • Lead monthly finance update meetings with General Manager and executive team
  • Comply with Hilton Worldwide policies and procedures
  • Review the balance sheets, ensure reconciliations are timely and accurate
  • Ensure the balance sheets are a fair reflection of the assets and liabilities of the hotels
  • Assist Heads of the Department to improve their financial awareness and provide them with relevant financial information for their operations
  • Review vendor contracts
  • Ad-hoc projects as required by the DOF NZ/General Manager
  • Manage on site Finance team members and Purchasing/IT functions

What are we looking for?

  • A minimum of 3+ years' experience as Finance Manager or similar role (preferably within the Hotel/Hospitality Industry)
  • A Tertiary level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of commercial business
  • Extensive background in Financial management, preferably in Hotel/ Hospitality industry
  • Positive attitude & the flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
  • Committed to delivering a high level of customer service, both internally and externally
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
