Based in beautiful Tauranga, this senior role offers a great opportunity for an HR Advisor with experience in a union dominated environment to take up a new challenge.  Reporting to the CEO and Heads of Department, you will help mentor, develop and manage the national staff within their regional branches. 

This organisation has grown significantly over time and they employ over 500 staff. You will be given the opportunity to draw upon your experience in human resource management to take ownership of a range of HR duties including the all-important culture management.   Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Working knowledge of NZ employment legislation and associated processes
  • Review and advise about current HR practices, from early stage recruitment to on-boarding and continual employment
  • Providing and implementing strategies to develop, grow and implement HR management solutions to assist in the achievement of business objectives
  • Manage and take responsibility of the People & Culture function
  • Develop, implement and support teams in HR policies and practices
  • Drive and support the development and delivery of cultural change plans and interventions
  • Continually improve company-wide training
  • Provide guidance to the HoD and Managers regarding performance management, recruitment and termination 
  • Manage and develop the performance management system and its related processes
  • Provide guidance and support to the leadership team and managers in relation to annual reviews of roles, salary, etc. 
  • Lead, mentor, develop and motivate the regional-based teams to be aligned with and adopt the company's values.
Requirements for this role will include: 
  • Experience in the People & Culture function 
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Culture Management or similar
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with proficient written and verbal English skills
  • Strong role modelling of values, professional behaviours, positive inspiration, governance and integrity
  • A high standard of professionalism and presentation
  • Ability to work as part of a team with honesty and confidentiality
  • Good numerical and IT skills
