We are proud to provide weekly non-contact time, collaborative team planning contributing to our child-led learning programme, professional development opportunities and direct monthly support with an external mentor.
Teacher We are on the hunt for a full-time teacher (qualified or unqualified) for our Onehunga Big Fish teaching team. Our centre, encapsulates a home-like setting for our children and families, promoting little learning nooks and seamless indoor outdoor flow into a backyard of exciting opportunities for our young children to explore. You will join a team of teachers who radiate energy, positivity and love teaching up to 36 children aged from 2 to 4-years-old. Experience with child led programme planning and documentation for children is advantageous. Effective management is established and monthly professional development is available to grow support teacher certification and professional development.
Due to expansion our Mangere Bridge centre is looking for a qualified teacher we are on the hunt for a full-time qualified teacher to join our Over Two’s teaching team, working primarily with our 3 and 4 year old children. Our centre, encapsulates a home-like setting for our children and families, promoting a seamless indoor outdoor flow into a backyard of exciting opportunities for our young children to explore. A good command of English is a must, along with ingenuity, positivity and flexibility. Excellent communication skills and positive contributions to team work are attributes we value. Experience with emergent programme planning and documentation will be advantageous. Monthly one on one professional development is provided to grow and support teacher certification and professional development.
Teacher Assistants Have you ever thought about a career in early childhood but not sure what it might be like? Then this is a great start for you! Our Teacher Assistant opportunity enables you to get a feel for the teaching role, our teacher assistants have grown with us, moving into full time teaching roles at School of Fish with some obtaining their early childhood teaching degrees!
We have opportunities for teachers to join our teaching team in a part time/on call capacity with a guaranteed minimum of 20 hours per week. We strive to have a team of part time staff that become familiar with our routines, teachers, children and families to jump into roles as needed within all age groups or rooms with confidence and security. This role would encompass a need for cover across both our centres when our permanent staff are on release or non-contact time, annual leave, field placements or other study based leave. ldeal applicants will be flexible, nurturing and passionate about children. As we often find this role opens the doors to individuals who are interested in or just starting their journey in Early Childhood Education experience isn't necessary but a love for learning alongside children is a must! Hours are on an as needed basis, between the hours of 8-5, anywhere from 1 - 5 days per week depending on the need at the time.
Excellent verbal and written English skills are essential. Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
