The Roles

We currently have a full time Parental leave cover, a full time tenured role and options for part time or casual as well. These roles present an exciting opportunity to join our team to contribute to social work and support worker education in programmes underpinned by principles of social justice, bicultural practice and empowering others to promote personal and social change. The major focus of the roles is working in with students in the Bachelor of Social Work, the NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing and / or the Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Supervision. There are opportunities to work in course theory and skills, field education and placement support and the hours of work are usually flexible and worked across the academic year.

The successful applicants will work with a team of staff who are experienced social work educators. These roles requires social workers who are passionate about practice and have an excellent reputation as a professional. These roles may suit an experienced educator or someone new to social work education who is seeking a change in the direction of their career and wanting to move into education.

Due to continued growth in student numbers we would be happy to discuss other options if you have an interest in part time or casual work as well. Please apply and make it clear in your cover letter which would suit you best between Permanent full time, fixed term parental leave cover or part time/casual.

Skills/Experience

  • Registered Social Workers
  • A postgraduate qualification, preferably a master’s degree in social work or related discipline
  • A minimum of three years practice experience as a social worker
  • Practice and educational qualifications and skills that support teaching of social work and human services
  • A broad range of social work practice skills
