Avondale College is a large multi-cultural secondary school with over 2800 students and a commitment to excellence.

We have an opportunity available for a part-time role supporting the smooth running of two of our busy and successful departments – Science and Social Science.  This combined role of Science Technician (Science) and Administrator (Social Science) includes providing laboratory preparation support for teachers and managing laboratory resources and equipment as well as providing administrative support to our Social Science Department. Previous experience of working in a science support role is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.

Previous experience of working within a school environment is desirable. 

The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Flexibility, being able to vary tasks and adapt to a range of situations
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficient computer technical skills and a willingness to attend to general office duties.

  • High professional and personal standards with quality output of work
  • Approachable and friendly manner

This  role is up to 24 hours per week during term time only.  The preferred start date is the beginning of Term 2.
