About the role:

This is one of those roles that is both complex and simple at the same time.  It's simple because your main focus is to book patients onto surgical lists so they see the right surgeon at the right time.  And, it's also complex because there is a large amount of co-ordination, collaboration and technical details involved to do that one simple thing very well.

Your organising skills and team work talents will get a good workout in this job, and, as with all small teams (there are 4 of you in the Bookings Team), working closely with others is a core element of this role.

Along with managing surgical bookings for both our permanent and visiting surgeons, you will also help with other core admin roles in the team such as billings, filing and supply contracts.  Overarching all that we do is a customer service approach that makes us the first choice for patients and visiting surgeons.

About you:

Ideally, you will have some experience in this type of work already, along with good knowledge of medical terms and how a medical facility functions.  Most of all, you will need to be able to prove your amazing eye for details and your capacity to work well with other people when under pressure.

You will need to be super reliable for your patients in terms of follow up, getting them the information they need on time and in full, along with excellent English - both written and verbal.

Understanding and empathy will be a core part of your nature and your customer service experience must include both face to face and on the phone.

About Auckland Eye Limited:

We are a growing private Ophthalmology practice, with 15 specialists.  Our primary clinic and day stay facility is located in Remuera.  We also have two additional hubs in New Lynn and Takapuna which include both clinic and surgical services.
