Earthworks Department Manager-Hawkes Bay

Who are we looking for?

Due to our earthworks manager heading overseas, we are looking for an Earthworks Department Manager to join our team and deliver the Good work Fulton Hogan is known for.

The job

The branch has a strong construction and maintenance presence in the Bay area, where there is huge opportunity for growth, both personally and for the region it self and one of the focuses will be to drive safety throughout the team and continuous improvement through the department.  To forward plan, programme and organise resources to ensure maximum utilisation. You will be ensuring the continued success of the contract and developing business in this area, as well as working alongside and supporting the other internal Managers in the area.

Key responsibilities:

  • Successful delivery of projects (operational and financial accountability)
  • Ability to work effectively with and alongside a diverse range of clients
  • Key stakeholder engagement
  • Pricing, tendering, reviewing forward work programmes
  • Managing and developing internal capability

Experience and attributes;

  • Experience within a construction/maintenance environment
  • Client centric outlook;
  • Financial and business acumen;
  • Have a solutions-oriented attitude;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Innovative business solutions;
  • Practical minded hands-on approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise at various levels building strong, compelling relationships both externally and internally.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and deadlines.
  • Proven experience of implementing and raising awareness of Health and Safety across sites.
  • Proactive, organised and hands on approach with the ability to work well as a team and on own initiative.
  • Demonstrable experience of providing a high level of customer service.
  • Awareness of continuous improvement, and the ability to continually develop efficiency improvements within scope.
