This role

We are seeking an energetic and innovative Business Innovation Advisor to provide direction and advice to customers within the Manufacturing sector.

This role is responsible for enabling business to accelerate the commercialisation of their ideas. This will involve working with firms to identify their opportunities and barriers to growth and how Callaghan Innovation can help, including connecting them to the innovative technologies, forward thinking, talent and funding, including R&D grants. You will hold a senior external facing position critical to Callaghan Innovation's success.

To be successful you will have the following attributes and skills:

  • A tertiary business qualification or equivalent proven commercial experience ideally within the Manufacturing sectors
  • Minimum five years experience leading businesses to grow within the manufacturing sector (physical products)
  • Proven track record of bring together multi-disciplined solutions-oriented teams to provide client solutions
  • Proven knowledge of strategy and business planning, product scoping, market testing, financial management, project management, governance and capacity building within a commercial environment
  • A challenging and constructive approach to evaluating commercial opportunities and execution strategies
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with people across all levels of the organization
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Understands putting the customer at the heart of everything they do
  • Ability to use a clear and professional written and verbal communication approach to strategic or tactical purpose at a level relevant to the needs of the position
  • Be able to contribute to team strategy sessions and be able to take ownership of one or more of the outcomes
