ABOUT THE ROLE

(2-year fixed contract)

We are seeking a reliable and relationship based administrator with experience and / or knowledge of fundraising to join Paralympics New Zealand (PNZ) in the lead up to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

The Fundraising Coordinator will be responsible for planning and implementing appropriate fundraising strategies to support PNZ’s objectives; developing a robust understanding of potential sources of funding; maintaining an up-to-date and well-informed database; and shaping and leading the campaigns and related communications.

You will be responsible for both traditional fundraising activities as well as new, innovative initiatives, with the experience to operate in a fast-paced, hands on, competitive sports environment. You will have the ability to create the best possible execution plan in order to increase donor acquisition, reduce donor attrition and grow income in the long term. You will seek to fully optimise all charitable and other income available to the organisation via fundraising initiatives, major gifts, philanthropic and community grants, and in-kind resources.

Building and sustaining effective relationships with partners will be key to the success of this role.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary qualification and/or knowledge and/or experience in fundraising, philanthropy, not-for-profit would be an advantage
  • 2+ years’ experience in a fundraising role, writing applications and working on a donor acquisition and stewardship programme
  • Preparation of community funding applications experience or knowledge is essential
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills and an ability to present impactfully
  • Direct marketing and CRM experience
  • Organised, with an ability to work on multiple projects at the same time under strict timelines
  • Creative thinker, who thinks outside the box and confidently brings new ideas to the table
  • Confident and personable; comfortable being the main fundraising liaison for the organisation
  • Team player, with the ability to take direction and work independently with basic supervision

Note: this role will require you to travel and potentially work some weekends to help deliver activity around New Zealand.

This represents a rare and exciting opportunity to fully optimise all charitable income and other funding for Paralympics New Zealand in the lead up to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

Applications close - Friday 22nd March, 2019
