New Zealand Police is the lead agency responsible for reducing crime and enhancing community safety. The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of our business and will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of mobile Traffic Cameras within the Taupo Area.

Traffic Camera Operators are an integral part of the delivery of Our Business in the Taupo Area that encompasses Taupo, Tokoroa, Turangi, Putaruru and Mangakino Policing areas.  The position advertised is based at the Taupo Police Station.  Taupo is a popular tourist destination, providing and hosting many sporting events and activities, is close to the Central Plateau ski fields, and is situated on the shores of Lake Taupo.

This is a position where you will be expected to bring experience in office administration systems and must be proficient with office computer systems.

Skills and Experiences:

  • Demonstrates good communication skills
  • Demonstrates ability to work by yourself for periods of time
  • Demonstrates ability to have a high level of self-motivation and initiative
  • Demonstrates experience in the administration of office systems including the ability to multi-task, prioritise, manage, meet deadlines and liaise effectively with internal and external customers
  • Demonstrates outstanding customer Service skills and the ability to work and contribute in a team environment
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge and application of computer based data entry and information recording, file management and Microsoft Office Systems (Whilst a knowledge of NIA is preferred, training can be provided)
  • Previous experience dealing with sensitive and confidential information

  • Successful applicant must obtain or hold a current First Aid certificate
  • Transfer costs included
