Operations Manager - Early Learning Centres

About the role

We are looking for someone with sound business acumen to lead a group of our vibrant Early Learning Centres in Wellington and Palmerston North.  As a social enterprise business, our surpluses are re-invested back into services that shape brighter futures for tamariki in New Zealand

Your leadership experience may have been in any of the education sectors – early learning, primary, secondary, public or private – but a background in education is a must, as is sharing our vision of an Aotearoa New Zealand where every child shines bright. 

You’ll become part of a talented and collaborative Senior Leadership Team who are committed to providing great learning outcomes for tamariki in our care and excellent customer service to their whanau.

Key responsibilities of the role

  • Lead the operation of a portfolio of Early Learning Centres to deliver superior quality and financial outcomes
  • Support and lead a team of Centre Managers to achieve their full potential and that of their Centre 
  • Business planning, setting and managing operational budgets for financial sustainability
  • Overall management of Centre operations, including retention, marketing and portfolio growth

Skills and experience – our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Experience in the education sector, preferably with an understanding of the ECE environment
  • A sound understanding of the commercial drivers behind a successful social enterprise business
  • Experience in analysing, planning and executing plans effectively and efficiently
  • First-rate communication and relationship-building skills
  • Thrive on creating innovative, high quality environments where teachers and tamariki can shine
