About the role

As Centre Manager, you will build on your already proven pedagogical experience, strong leadership and operational management skills, to take an effective and enthusiastic teaching team to the next level. You will be a fully Certificated Teacher and have at least 2-3 years experience in a Centre Management / Leadership role. 

You'll be responsible for

  • Managing day-to-day centre operations, including staffing, enrolment plans and marketing initiatives
  • Providing pedagogical leadership in creating an environment where children are engaged, and their interests and strengths are developed and shared with their whānau
  • Recruiting, inducting, leading and developing a high-quality centre team
  • Counted in ratio, weekly total of 14 hours of management and professional time.

Skills and experience

  • Be a leader who is confident, vibrant and positive 
  • Strong at building relationships with parents and attracting families to the centre
  • Have demonstrated the ability to lead and inspire a teaching team
  • Be a qualified (Bachelor or Diploma of Teaching ECE) and fully certificated teacher
  • Have initiative, desire and passion for quality practice standards and commitment to the principles of Te Whāriki
  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills
