About our organisation

Springboard Trust (SBT) is a unique charitable trust within the education sector, working to assist our school leaders to enhance their students' achievements by strengthening strategic leadership capability within schools. This is achieved through capacity building amongst school leaders and their teams through  SBT providing access to cross-sector expertise drawn from New Zealand’s public, private and philanthropic communities.We are expanding in the Christchurch and Canterbury region and seeking a passionate, dynamic programme manager to join our small team to support and lead this growth.    

About the Role

The Programme Manager is responsible for delivering or facilitating the delivery of Springboard Trust programmes and services to support school leaders develop and achieve their strategic goals.  You will work alongside school leaders to help identify and understand their individual development needs.  Your interactions and quality of work will continue to build SBT's credibility as an effective enabler for improving both educational leadership and the learning outcomes for students. 

Key Responsibilities

Strategy and Planning

  • Support the SBT leadership team to scope and develop regional opportunities
  • Collaborate with colleagues  to provide regional insights and market intelligence
  • Develop a regional pipeline of participants and skills volunteers 
  • Support strategic development of SBT by developing relationships in key stakeholder communities

Development and Innovation

  • Identify opportunities to improve our programmes & services  to better meet needs, accelerate strategic change in schools or produce system change
  • Contribute to the design and/or development, content or delivery methods to support, scale and evaluate 
  • Work with colleagues to maintain high quality, relevant content (continuous improvement)

Programme Management

  • Develop a pipeline of targeted schools, school leaders and skills volunteers to meet demand (or volume targets) and ensure optimum growth in your specific region
  • Provide ongoing coaching and/or training support to school leaders and skills volunteers to increase the impact and effectiveness
  • Work with school leaders and volunteers to identify, scope, resource and support strategic engagements, to maximise impact and effectiveness in schools
  • In liaison with the Programme Administrators, be responsible for  day to day administration 
  • Lead and co-ordinate a portfolio of engagements in schools, tracking progress
  • When required, provide workshop facilitation, and one-on-one coaching  

Relationship Management

  • Ensure SBT’s reputation and brand profile is held in the highest regard by developing and effectively managing a detailed regional stakeholder engagement plan
  • Develop effective stakeholder relationships to ensure participation and engagement is optimised
  • Effectively match skills volunteers with school leaders and engagements
  • Collaborate across teams to facilitate a seamless customer journey

Reporting and Measurement

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records about leads, school leaders, skills volunteers and engagements through SBT’s infosystem
  • Capture and record content using evaluation methodologies for reporting 
  • Provide planning and forecasting input to ensure demand and supply 
  • Provide insights and contribute to the development of SBT reports, marketing material, case studies and digital content
  • Ensure rigorous post-engagement analysis takes place
  • Contribute to the evolving evaluation framework to assess the impact of our services on school leadership effectiveness, teaching efficacy and student learning

  • A passion for making a difference in education
  • Adaptable and resilient with a ‘can do’ attitude, good sense of humour
  • Ideally tertiary qualified with experience from the Education sector
  • Excellent influencing, relationship and customer service skills - Account Management experience
  • Proven aptitude in developing, managing and delivering learning programmes
  • Proven experience in coaching and facilitation
  • Proven track record in managing strategic change effectively including programme leadership, senior stakeholder management, change management, communications, reporting, risk/issues management, project evaluation and measurement
  • Ability to effectively consult and communicate with a wide range of key stakeholders
  • Business planning and resource management experience
  • Proven track record of taking a strategic and deeply customer-minded approach to content creation
  • Superior communication skills
