The Role

You will be responsible developing policy positions in new and emerging business, policy and regulatory areas of relevance to members. We are looking for someone who enjoys to drive change and influence the business and regulatory environment.

Reporting to the Business Reform Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • supporting activities which shape and influence business reform issues of relevance to members, specifically in Australia and New Zealand.
  • high-level policy research and analysis in a diverse range of areas including insolvency, corporate governance, AML, climate change, modern slavery, wider sustainability and emerging technology issues.
  • Developing policy, advocacy and communications strategies to support CA ANZ policy priorities. 
  • Developing and implementing strategies to engage and inform members of the policy and advocacy work of CA ANZ. 
  • Identifying opportunities for innovative and engaging advocacy initiatives, to include appropriate reporting measures on effectiveness.

The successful candidate will:

  • Possess the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and analysis.
  • Demonstrate an ability to build  and maintain internal and external relationships to achieve objectives.
  • Show initiative, and be able to prioritise and self-manage in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Have high-level written and oral communication skills and be an effective communicator.

It is desirable that the candidate possess the following qualifications and experience: 

  1. At least 5 years working experience in a Business or Policy environment
  2. Relevant tertiary and post-graduate qualification
  3. CA or legal qualification an advantage
  4. Professional writing skills – This will involve formal engagement through submissions, written communication with members and other stakeholders and digital online communications
  5. Good awareness of the current key issues for business and roles of our members and a desire to learn more.
