About the role


Managing the off-shore garment production. The role involves negotiating with factories to achieve best prices and margins while maintaining a high level of quality and meeting delivery deadlines.





Ensure production deadlines (costing completion, order placing, sample approvals, shipping, in-store deliveries) are met.

Communicate production timelines and deadlines to design, production and sales departments with enough time for each team to plan and create around them.

Communicate delivery delays to design, sales and marketing teams.

Communicate any cost or quality issues with design and sales.

Daily communication with factories on each style's progress and any queries.



Complete costing's for off-shore garment production.

Updating prices through the production process if needed and informing Buyer.

Correctly code invoices to in-store delivery month and complete month-end SIT report for accounts.

Update OTB with final cost prices post month end SIT processing.



Factory selection based on factories strengths, price, fabric source and time frame.

Work with Pattern Maker to ensure styles are handed over/ approved in time for the factory's lead time.

Placing of off-shore orders.

Off-shore specs.

Work with off-shore suppliers to ensure best prices, quality and delivery.

Communicate with Buyer and Production Manager regarding any issues or changes from original order where necessary. Gain approval from Buyer on any changes.

Ordering of bulk labels and coordinating dispatch to suppliers.

Sample measuring, checking and comments.

Managing off-shore wash & wear testing.

Working with factories/ QC company on the QC process before shipping.

Managing off-shore shipments/ couriers (bookings, clearance, delivery).

Managing bulk hand over to stock controller (chasing delivery, QC, count, packing lists).

Factory resolution for any delivery issues/ B grades.

Managing off-shore faulty, returns and repairs.

Managing the off-shore ethical policy audits.



General filing.

General driving.

Assist Stock Controller and local production team with the quality control of all product when necessary.



Achieving gross profit margin budgets (in dollars, not percentage points)

This can be achieved through:

On-time deliveries.

Negotiating with suppliers for best price.

Costing accuracy – maximum % difference under or over between CI and MYOB.



Skills and experience


Good time management skills and able to prioritise tasks.

Excellent communicator and able to relay instructions accurately.

Good problem solving skills.

Good technical fabric and garment knowledge.

Accurate with attention to detail.

Understanding of Chinese factory and shipping process.
