People and Culture Advisor

  • Permanent role, Wellington based
  • People, Culture and Change (PC&C) Group

The role

As People and Culture Advisor, you will collaboratively partner with the HR BP and wider HR team to provide coaching and support for EQC's internal leaders, and support the delivery of HR initiatives and projects. An experienced HR professional, it goes without saying that you will build and maintain strong relationships with managers across the organisation.

With your highly developed interpersonal skills, you will confidently work as an integral part of the PC & C group to support managers to effectively implement performance management, employment relations and change management projects. You'll need to apply yourself to delegated tasks and become a super user of our HR software systems. Being delivery focussed means having to re-prioritise all the time while following tasks and commitments through to completion. There's no doubt you will get variety in your work day, using your experience with the whole spectrum of HR.

To be successful in this role you will bring with you:

  • Sound HR generalist knowledge including HR policy practices and implementation
  • Tertiary qualification in HR (preferable) or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
  • Significant experience in a similar role (minimum 4 years)
  • Solid relationship management experience up to and including executive level
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

This is a key role requiring resilience, agility and a passion for people! You will be rewarded with working in an amazing team, where no two days are the same. You will have the ability to continually develop yourself and those around you and you will be part of setting EQC up for the future.

About The People, Culture and Change (PC&C) Group

The PC&C Group are responsible for creating the people and culture capabilities to execute EQC's strategy in line with the Customer Centred Operating Model. Having recently gone through a reorganisation the PC&C team is now set up to deliver powerfully into the future and we are excited to be recruiting new talent into the team at this time of transformation.

Let us tell you a little about EQC

EQC is a crown entity with a mission to reduce the impact of natural disasters on people and property. We're a support partner to people in their greatest hour of need when dealing with the results of earthquakes, floods, landslips, cyclones, geothermal activity and other natural disasters on land and residential property.

You would be joining an organisation of people who are motivated and passionate about our core values with an emphasis on working together, always learning, doing the right thing and making a positive difference in our customers' lives. We need someone who can role model these values through all their interactions and relationships.
