About the business and the role
Tauranga Eyecare is Tauranga's longest running independent optometry practice. We have two practices, Tauranga and Omokoroa, and this position involves time in both practices by roster. The main practice is open till 830 on a Thursday night and Saturday mornings until 1pm and these days are included in the roster.
It is envisaged that the position will average 20-25 hours per week, mostly afternoon shifts with Thursdays nights and Saturday mornings by roster. However we require flexibility- the successful candidate to be able to cover other team members if required.
We are a full scope optometry practice with 5 optometrists with speciality clinics in contact lenses and low vision. You will be part of a team of 5 optical assistants.
Being an independent optometry practice we are able to provide the best products both in frame and lens technology to offer personalised visual solutions.
We would advise candidates become familiar with our website and social media to understand the nature of our business.
Job tasks and responsibilities
We require a person who has an appreciation and importance of the role as the first point of contact to our optometry practice and that first impressions are critical to the client interaction. A responsive facial expression, clear phone manner, a great listener and readiness to assist are essential.
