Compliance/QA Officer

Based in Auckland, our client operates a state-of-the-art factory and prides themselves on sourcing only the finest NZ ingredients. Coming from humble beginnings, they have now grown into a multinational business. They employ 250 employees and produce 560,000 packs of product each week, with 94% of that product being exported to over 100 countries. Our client is also very community-orientated and are large sponsor of many national activities, such as the famous NZ Mud Run.

The Role:

Reporting to the Quality Compliance Manager and as part of a small group of Compliance/Auditors, this position will share the broad quality and compliance responsibilities that you would expect in a high-risk food processing facility. These include general onsite compliance, documentation control, supporting with internal and hosted audits, and RCA/HACCP/CAPA. Because the majority of product is exported to countries with stringent importing regulations, OMAR and similar export compliance is also part of the scope of this role.
  
Required of you:

Applicants will have a strong level of quality assurance experience from within the high-risk meat/food sector. As a confident, established quality assurance professional, you will be able to demonstrate proficiency in the affore mentioned responsibilities.  Furthermore, you will be able to work as part of a close-knit team, be able to communicate effectively and professionally with other teams and external contacts, and have daily decision-making abilities.
  
Key Requirements
  • Tertiary science qualification – preferably food science/technology or microbiology
  • At least 3 years manufacturing and Quality Assurance experience in the high-risk food industry
  • BRC, OMAR Auditing experience
  • Previous experience with RMP, HACCP, Root Cause Analysis and corrective action
  • Good understanding of GMP and high-risk products 
  • Excellent time management and communication skills is essential
