Area Manager - NZ

The Company

Capricorn is a unique, cooperative minded organisation owned by its members that operates in the Automotive Industry. It provides access to a host of business services including consolidated monthly billing, finance, risk protection and even a registered travel agency. Since its beginnings in 1974, Capricorn has grown to an international business with over 20,000 Members and 2,500 Preferred Suppliers operating across Australia and New Zealand.

The Role

Capricorn's Area Managers develop business with our existing Members and Preferred Suppliers, as well as establishing new business within a designated Sales territory with the goal of achieving membership and sales growth for the organisation. Based from your own home office, travelling to meet Members and Suppliers is key to this role and as such regular travel to rural areas away from home may be necessary based on the sales territory. This role will cover portions of Auckland, and  travel to the Hauraki/Coromandel area. Travel to Australia to attend the annual sales conference will also be a requirement so a Passport is also a pre-requisite.

Primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Interacting with existing Members and Suppliers to build relationships and facilitate profitable growth;
  • Actively prospecting for new membership growth meeting this objective within the overall business plan;
  • Developing a strong network of key contacts and associates and maintaining an up-to-date understanding of local market trends and economic conditions;
  • Promoting the organisation's products, services and events to Members and prospective Members; and
  • Sales reporting and other administration as required.

Previous Experience

Our work culture is one of our most valued assets at Capricorn. That means that when we recruit, we are looking for the right person who can demonstrate our core values by being proactive, responsible, inquisitive, dedicated and enthusiastic. These attributes are a must for us to maintain our work culture, and it's important to us that these are demonstrated with examples from previous professional experience.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Proven sales and/or relationship management experience within a geographical sales territory;
  • An understanding of the automotive parts and service industry.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
  • Proven competency to meet demands, deadlines and timeframes, and pride in your motivation and time management skills;
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to the overall team objectives as well as individual targets; and
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Benefits at Capricorn & How to Apply

In addition to joining a successful team and a great work environment, you will also receive an excellent salary and incentive program, a vehicle, laptop, mobile phone and income protection insurance.

Capricorn has a strong commitment to learning and development, with an in-house training team and a dedication to professional development.

If this is you and you're interested in joining us, please send through your resume via Seek. CV's will be reviewed as they arrive so we'd like to see your application sooner rather than later.
