Architectural Technician / LBP2

We have an immediate opportunity for an Architectural Designer / LBP2 to join an inspiring team. We are on the lookout for a technician who is keen on their next career move. This is an opportunity to extend yourself beyond the usual technical role and become more involved in design and project co-ordination. Our current projects are underway and awaiting your commercially savvy project delivery experience.

What we need from you: 

  • Be a licensed building practitioner (LBP design 2)
  • Demonstration of a strong understanding in the NZ industry practices and procedures with a sound knowledge of NZ building code and NZS 3604.
  • 5+ years’ current experience in the New Zealand industry.
  • Good understanding of the NZ building code, standards, and legislation. 
  • Essential experience of ArchiCad, with a desirable experience of Revit and 3D modelling.
  • Experience within commercial and industrial is helpful however you will have substantial experience within the residential sector. Lifestyle Villages is an advantage.
  • A positive solution orientated disposition and an all-round ‘can do’ approach.
  • Experience preparing and delivering documentation for building consent.
  • Experience in delivering projects through construction.
  • Understanding the commercial reality of the industry where innovation in design must meet budgets and bring great value.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal, written and virtual, particularly the ability to coordinate accurately with engineers, architects, clients and contractors and local bodies across this country.
  • Confident communicating at all levels of the business in many formats with a high level of proficiency in English. 
  • Eager to learn new skills, develop and progress.
  • Ability to build a trusted positive rapport.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, office management systems and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work, communicating priorities to team members.
  • A keen eye for detail and developed technical skill will be essential.
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • A current and valid New Zealand Driver’s License.
