Quality Control Laboratory Technician - Permanent

NZP manufactures pharmaceutical intermediates and diagnostic products for many of the world's largest pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and is undergoing a period of significant growth. Based in Palmerston North, we are proud of our reputation as an innovator and leader in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturing sector. With an office in the UK and clients all over the world, 99% of our production is exported globally. Our facility, which operates to comply with global cGMP requirements is focused on and committed to the introduction of a variety of novel pharmaceutical intermediates and biochemical products, derived chiefly from animal and plant materials, to extend their rapidly growing portfolio.

As a Laboratory Technician you will be an integral part of the Quality Team, assisting NZP to meet our commitment to quality. Reporting to the QC Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out timely quality control testing and analysis of starting materials, intermediates and finished products. Alongside testing you will be required to prepare batch documentation and records for product release in addition to performing monitoring programmes, laboratory equipment qualifications and test method validations.

What we are looking for

We seek committed Technicians who can confidently and accurately execute a range of analytical techniques (such as HPLC), whilst diligently completing traceable documentation to GMP standards. You will ideally have two years’ experience working in a Laboratory Technician role and will excel in a team environment through concise and transparent communication.

You will be solutions focused with the ability to anticipate problems, pro-actively seek resolution and adapt easily to changing priorities. You will possess well developed time management skills with the ability to work autonomously and be self-driven. As a person of integrity, you will have a strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to have a positive impact on others.

Working hours would be 2:30pm - 11:00pm, Monday to Friday. As part of the application process, any formal offer of employment will be dependent on applicants undergoing and passing a pre-employment medical including drug screening. Candidates must also provide proof that they have the right to live and work in New Zealand.

Please apply online with your CV and cover letter. If you want to find out more about the role, or to request a position description please contact Kendall by emailing hr.nzp@nzp.co.nz
