Apply your programme delivery and assessment expertise

Are you passionate about quality tertiary education and assessment practice?

Can you apply your assessment and moderation skills to ensure programmes listed on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework are credible and robust?

We are looking for an Evaluator to join our growing Monitoring and Assessment team. This is an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals to perform at the highest level, in a supportive, target driven environment.

Your excellent communication, relationship management and influencing skills will enable you to work well with colleagues, contractors and tertiary education organisations.

You will have strong analytical skills that enable you to establish the quality of programme delivery and how well it complies with NZQA Rules.

You will be responsible for:

  • planning and carrying out programme monitoring and compliance visits, and synthesising your findings in programme monitoring reports
  • contracting, training, and quality assuring the work of programme monitors and moderators
  • working closely with education organisations to monitor their performance in national external moderation and provide guidance in assessment and moderation good practice

We are looking for someone with in-depth knowledge and experience in assessment and moderation, curriculum design, and programme development and delivery.

NZQA is accountable for managing the New Zealand Qualifications Framework, administering the secondary school assessment system, independent quality assurance of non-university education providers, qualifications recognition and standard setting for some specified unit standards.

NZQA has a Te Reo Māori bilingual goal "Whakapakari" to be achieved in 2020.

You may be working for an Industry Training Organisation, ITP, PTE, Wānanga, University or Government Training Organisation. Applications are welcome from people in quality assurance, training and development, and academic programme leadership roles.

You will hold a relevant qualification at Bachelor level or above and have extensive knowledge of the New Zealand tertiary education sector.
