Blast Crew
The role
We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Open Pit Drill and Blast department to assist with Open Pit Drill and Blast activities and help to ensure these are compliant with production targets in a safe and efficient manner. This position reports to the Drill and Blast Supervisor.
Key tasks and responsibilities include the following:
- Priming, stemming and tie-in of drill holes ready for blasting
- Helping ensure the security of the blast area and the magazines
- Ensuring all safety and explosive rules and regulations are observed.
- Assist with day to day drill and blast activities
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Full and current driver's licence, ability to drive manual vehicles
- Ideally an Approved Handlers Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
- Proven safety record
- Ability to follow procedures and industry best practice
