Field Operator Level 1 (Technical)
Our client is a leading supplier of fuel to the New Zealand market, with involvement in refining and distribution, and branded service stations throughout the country.
This is a full time, 12 month temporary assignment located in Wellington.
As Field Operator you will be a key part of the Operations team contributing to the smooth running of the terminal facilities. You will be responsible for:

Driving efficiencies
- Participating in site emergency response activities and daily toolbox meetings.
- Providing operational support for change on site
- Completing minor maintenance tasks.
- Dipping of tanks as required and manage site interface tanks and reinjection
- Monitoring of underground slops tanks and storm water management including Interceptor monitoring
- If requested, ensure water samples are taken and sent to the laboratory for testing and results filed and variances reported.
- Product Quality testing (density and temperature by hydrometer/thermometer or digital densitometer corrected to 15deg, haze rating, conductivity, flash point etc.) and storing of samples per requirements.
- Assisting with commissioning new equipment/systems
- Issue permits under the work control procedures and tier one best practices
- Dewater tanks when required
- Update and maintain site procedures
- Trouble shoot load rack issues and Omega concerns
- Scheduling of marine work and other activities
Having worked as a Field Technician for a number of years your Health and Safety record will be impeccable and you will be a valuable contributor to site safety, compliance and regulations. Shift handover and logging operational events are important functions of this role so your written and verbal communication skills will be fine-tuned. Thriving on a challenge you will be well versed in well diagnostics and problem solving will be your forte.
Hours of work are Monday - Friday 0800 - 1700 hrs however overtime will be required based on operational requirements.
