Our client, a leading Canterbury food manufacturer and exporter, is seeking an experienced General Manager. The business currently exports a high demand product to Asia, USA and Australia and has plans for continued international expansion. Domestic sales are also expanding under a number of high-profile brands that are setting new standards within the industry.

Considerable investment in infrastructure, quality standards and people has taken place over the last 24 months which has placed the company in a very strong position to leverage new business opportunities.  The company is building a solid reputation around innovation, quality and customer responsiveness.

The successful applicant will come from a background in food manufacturing and international export. Critical to the role is a strong understanding of food export requirements and the demands of international markets. Best practice food manufacturing and inventory management experience is also a vital skillset that the new General Manager must have.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous General Management experience, with a strong food manufacturing background
  • Experience in Food Export
  • Proven track record in inventory & financial management
  • Well-developed relationship management skills
  • Ability to improve operational and financial performance of the business
  • Ability to interpret, extract and analyse financial information
  • Skilled in the sales processes and able to close deals that are commercially favorable
  • Tertiary qualification in a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers, staff, managers, business owners and suppliers.
