Financial Services Solicitor, Auckland, 1-4 yrs PQE

About the role:

Our Auckland based Financial Services team leads its practice area and is looking for a solicitor, to join us at junior level.  Ideally you will have local law firm experience, with some experience or exposure to financial services, investment funds, securities law or KiwiSaver. We would also be interested in you if you have a general corporate, finance or tax background. 

As the successful candidate, you will work directly with market leaders in the financial services area-Tim Williams and Penny Sheerin. Tim and Penny advise clients on the full range of financial services laws locally and internationally, including establishing KiwiSaver schemes and other managed investment schemes, advising on securities, financial adviser and insurance laws and related business acquisitions.

As a Chapman Tripp lawyer, you'll be part of a very strong, well regarded team who work closely together. You'll be exposed to interesting work, and there will be scope for you to build long-term client relationships and advance within the firm. In return, we're looking for a lawyer who is intelligent, commercially astute, client focused and ready to consolidate and extend his/her experience.

Relevant Skills and Experience:

  • 1-4 years PQE
  • Solid law degree
  • Commercially astute and client focused
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
