Operations Manager - Parcels

About the role

This role is responsible for managing the national operations requirement for the parcel network ensuring customer and business needs are met in a timely manner.

You will work to effectively influence and coordinate parcel staff across the NZ network, and achieve quality service standards and safe work practices by implementing company policies and local business strategies

Duties & responsibilities

  • Ensuring the safe and timely handling of freight
  • Managing Customer relationships and resolving any freight forwarding issues within a given timeframe
  • Allocation of resources and Freight Operation managed to achieve all branch KPIs
  • Freight operations organised to ensure inbound freight will be loaded for local delivery on day of arrival.
  • Make sure all scanning of freight is done properly
  • Ensure documentation accompanying freight move is complete
  • Quality of Operations performance
  • Compliance- all parcel freight is moved effectively and efficiently in accordance with company guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Customer focus -ensuring DIFOT expectations are met and that customers are informed with accurate and up to date information
  • Team management

Working as part of the Toll team you will communicate effectively with all stakeholders and develop working relationships with both internal and external customers.

Skills and Experience

  • Must have at least 5 years' experience in the Transport/Logistics industry
  • Leadership/Management experience in an operational environment desired
  • Working experience in a parcels environment preferred
  • Experienced dealing with customers
  • Analyses and interprets information
  • Experienced in using Microsoft office packages
  • Understanding of Financials
