Trainee Geographic Information System (GIS) Technician

We have an outstanding opportunity to join the PowerNet team in the exciting and rewarding role of Trainee Geographic Information System Technician (GIS), based out of our Invercargill office.

Even though this is a trainee role we would also encourage someone with relevant GIS or other information systems experience to also apply.

In this role you will be responsible for taking the data from out in the field and being able to read and translate this to input as information in our GIS program.

Experience/Knowledge and Skills:

  • Be innovative
  • Experience with electronic draughting and geographical information systems
  • Understanding or interest in the electricity industry
  • Competent with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills
  • Class 1 New Zealand Drivers licence (minimum restricted)
  • Interest in emerging technology
  • NCEA Level 2 or equivalent level of achievement
