Our client is going places and needs another Field Service Technician to help get us to that next level. Based in Hamilton, they are highly competitive the industrial end of line packaging space in NZ and are fast growing in to Australia.

The opportunity

A specialist in end of line industrial packaging from filling to closing, conveying to palletizing, wrapping and control.  Our client works closely with a variety of process industries such as food & dairy, grain and seed, growers, stockfeed, fertilizer and cement - providing product and services that increase their clients efficiency, capacity, versatility and profitability.  A trusted solutions provider is their vision; commitment to values and to continue to excel in their products and services are what makes being part of this leading processing equipment partner, a place you want to work!  

About the role

With growth in the business, we are now seeking a Field Service Technician to join their team. The role is structured to attract a proven, high performing individual that can support the company’s parts and service and consumables divisions. 
  
The responsibilities

This role involves on-site field servicing and preventative maintenance of the industrial end-of-line packaging equipment our client specializes in (including industrial sewing machines, heat sealers, bag filling machines and weigh scales, robotic palletisers, conveyors, and stretch wrappers etc). This role primarily is focused on on-site field servicing around NZ however it could involve assisting with in-house bench servicing equipment from time to time. Our client is also growing into Australia so you potentially could be required to visit Australia clients until they have a full-time Technician based there.
  
Also, as part of the role the Field Service Technician, you will be required to assist in sales with both new customer acquisition for the Company's service department and the sales of the company's consumables products (sewing thread and packaging products).
  
The Field Service Technician role is a critical first point of contact and one of the most important relationships for our customers therefore the applicant will need excellent customer service and communication skills to be successful in this role.
  
We are looking for someone that:
  • Has practical mechanical experience; have mechanical aptitude and capabilities and preferably a current Electrical Service Technician (EST) Certificate (not mandatory but highly beneficial)
  • Has good mechanical skills and preferably experience with electrical automation and/or robotics
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to dynamic work schedules
  • Willing to travel away from home for up to 2x weeks at a time.
  • Able to travel freely throughout New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific Islands
  • Is a great team player and problem solver and cares for others
  • Superb customer service, communication and self-management skills
  • Has strong computer skills and a good phone manner
  • Is aligned with our character of being; Supportive, Innovative, Solution Orientated, Trusted, Switched on, Principled, Resilient Fun, Organized, Systematic and Diligent
  • Is able to take ownership and operate with initiative
