We are a fast growing and successful moving and delivery company across Auckland and the North Island. We are focused on leading customer experience and service.

We have created a new role to strengthen our team's Sales and to add to our management experience and capability and to support growth activity in the business.

Purpose

As the leader of the sales and operations side of the business, the National Sales and Services Manager ("Manager") is responsible for driving the sales (revenue) of the company to extraordinary levels in line with the strategy of the company.  The Manager will deliver, build a sustainable and talented sales and operations team, will build scalable processes and will do everything in their power to deliver rapid revenue growth in all key areas. Manages all the national sales and operations, including day-to-day management of sales and operational teams ("The Team" – currently 6 employees)

 

Skills, Experience & Education

 

  • Have previous senior level sales, marketing, operations or revenue operations experience

  • Have previously implemented successful revenue growth strategies

  • Have a strong financial background

  • Has at least 5 years of past sales experience

  • Has at least 5 years' experience of managing

  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • University degree preferred

  • Highly efficient

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to build relationships with external customers

  • Ability to drive a team to achieve demanding metrics

 

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • 1. Hires, manages, trains and develops the members of the Team within budget and Company standards.

    • Create accountability by developing metrics, compensation and promotions

    • Implementing new organizational structure to support growth

    • Implement company culture

    • Ensure all members of the Team are having regular one-on-ones with their direct manager.

    • Ensure timely and quality feedback is provided to all direct reports.

    • Work with Team to set goals and ensure achievement.

    • Make hiring/ firing decisions.

    • Ensures team covers appropriate hours for most effective business practices.

2. Drive new sales and opportunities

  • Create targeted sales plans, implement and successfully deliver new revenue

  • Prospect and close relationships with key target clients

  • Deepen current customer sales

  • Monitor the revenue pipeline and leads, adjusting as necessary to create sustainable growth

  • Actively visit customers

  • Assist and drive sales directives set from management team.


 

3. Deepens current customer sales

  • 4. Ensures the highest customer service is provided at all times

 

  • Actively builds and manages relationships with customers and ensures the highest level of services is provided personally and by the Team at all times.

  • Is completely accountable for the customer services process and results.

  • Proactively develops processes to ensure the highest level of customer service is upheld at all times.

  • Manages all customer service escalations.  Clarifies the customer's complaint, determines the cause of the problem, selects and explains the best solution to solve the problem, expediates correction or adjustment and follows up to ensure resolution.

  • Provides training on customer service to Team members as required.

  • Proactively works with all members of Smart Express teams to ensure the highest level of customer service is provided at all times.

  • Actively implements learnings to ensure jobs run smoother in the future.

  • Go the extra mile to engage customers and build customer relationships.


 

  • 5. Accountable for Customer Relationship Management System

  • Assess, advise, and assist with implementation of a new CRM system.

  • Maintain an accurate CRM system.

  • Ensure CRM system always performs to the highest standard allowing highest level of customer service.

  • Develop and update CRM system as appropriate to ensure the highest level of customer service.

  • Ensures the integration of information from CRM system to other Smart Express systems and process.


 

  • 6. Develops scalable and automated processes for long term success

  • Create a standardized outreach for current and future clients and coordinate its implementation across sales channels, client management, and marketing and communications.

  • Implement scalable and automated processes to ensure delivery of excellent results all the time.

  • Develop and implement robust sales management processes – pipeline, account planning, and proposals

 

  • 7. Key executive support and strategic partner

  • Implement strategic projects as directed by management.

  • Establish short and long term goals to support company strategy and roll these out to your team

  • Provide meaningful analysis and reports to Management on key metrics to help identify areas to improve operations.

 

  • 8. Work with marketing to ensure sales channels are effective and efficient, including analyzing and being proactive on customer research and feedback.

 

  • 9. Make best and industry leading decisions within financial budget including hiring and daily spending.

 

  • 10. Key Executive Support  - Actively support the company strategy and implement projects as required.
