ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT - REPORTING

The Finance Team is located at 8 Rockridge Avenue, Penrose, Auckland.  We apply shared services principles as a common ERP system in Oracle E-Business suite meaning one center can be maintained for the company's core and common processes.  The goals are to maximise synergies from centralisation through FTE optimisation, training and backup, and business knowledge retention.

The Reporting Team operates the core reporting systems deployed in SGS for sustainability, tax, month end and forecast reporting in Hyperion to Head Office and our Regional Office.  Local reporting outside month end covers analysis of the revenue and costing streams and this analysis will provide data analysis to the business service function.  Duties include overseeing journals, all ledgers, fixed assets, local and international accounting and tax rules, month end close and reconciliations with the other teams in finance and business administration staff.

We are looking for Accounting Assistant – Reporting. Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, the primary responsibilities in the role are: To provide commercial business information to drive finance’s goals and mission; to ensure quality information is received from forms submitted by the businesses, process improvement actions are encouraged; To promote a learning environment and a culture of up-skilling in the branches of control practices accounting and computer system use; and to provide understanding on all matters to do with information technology uses.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have relevant tertiary qualifications in finance or accounting; a minimum of three years’ experience in financial and management reporting; You will have the functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job with a high level of accomplishment, strong level of verbal and written English including business report writing. You will be able to identify problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. You can relate to all kinds of people, up, down and sideways, inside and outside of the organisation. You are tolerant with people and processes and you are dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Experiences with Oracle system and advanced excel with PBI are highly advantageous.
