Parking Resolution Officer

Ambassador to the coolest little capital!

We serve the residents and businesses of the city of Wellington.

To ensure we meet their needs we consult and engage with them on a regular basis and develop our vision and long term plans to meet those needs.

The Parking Services Group plays an important role in the City. It supports the City's transport vision, policies and by-law. Customer service is key throughout the Group in effectively engaging with the public. An effective parking system sees the safe movement of vehicles through the city and parking turnover that assists people get where they want to go.

Your role will be to promote and support compliance with parking regulations and to apply appropriate judgement in response to appeals, complaints and requests for information (written and verbal) in relation to parking infringements.

Your main day to day duties are to:

  • demonstrate excellent customer service at all times
  • provide written responses to incoming correspondence to support organisation and legislative requirements
  • investigate appeals and make written decisions that are both fair and consistent and in accordance with guidelines
  • promote good public relationsmanage work flow.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous customer service experience
  • Able to deal with difficult customers and situations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A high level of energy and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work without direct supervision and in a team environment
  • High level of problem solving and decision making skills, using professional judgement and initiative
  • Proven high productivity and output
  • Experience and knowledge in parking an advantage but not necessary

This is a full-time (40 hours) permanent position.
