Planning & Performance Team

12mth Fixed Term – Auckland CBD

  • A chance to combine your instruction design & facilitation experience
  • Your chance to make a difference in the lives of New Zealanders

We are looking for an experienced Trainer to join our Planning and Performance Team.  We are a small team looking to achieve a lot in the coming year.

Who are we?

At Stats NZ Tatauranga Aotearoa, our vision is to unleash the power of data to change lives.

Collection Operations are at the forefront. We have a data sourcing role from businesses and households across NZ.

As New Zealand’s official data and statistics agency, we are tasked with leading the way for New Zealand’s data future, enabling data-led innovation across society, the economy, and the environment.

What is the role?

This is a fixed-term contract to back-fill one of our trainers that will be on maternity leave.

The role will require developing and delivering training to our various survey collection teams. This role is a blended position requiring excellent facilitation ability, instructional design basics, and some knowledgebase management.

The teams we support work on the phones, through the mail, and go door to door - our learners’ needs are fairly diverse.

Finding creative and functional solutions for engaging people and teams is really important. The key competencies required in the role are:

  • Online learning creation and management
  • Instructional design and content development
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Facilitation.  Since our team is all over the country, travel is sometimes required.

Training tools we use:

  • Articulate 360 Suite – Storyline & Rise
  • Camtasia Video Editing
  • Totara Learning Management System - Moodle
  • Camcorders
  • Skype for Webinars
  • Salesforce Knowledgebase

Who are you?

  • You are confident giving new tools and technology a try
  • You have practical experience as a trainer or instructor working with adults
  • You have some experience with supporting frontline staff such as Contact Centre staff
  • You are comfortable with what the role is all about.
  • You also think that it’s pretty great that we’re all going to be changing lives together.

What’s in it for you?

Regular one on ones. Ongoing development. Creative control on training projects. Great team to work with. Kiwisaver. Wellbeing grant. Discount on group health insurance. Business cards (unless you don’t want them). Social club. Excellent environment.
