One Double Five Whare Awhina Community House Trust have a vacancy for a Mothers Moving Mountain’s Coordinator. The Mothers Moving Mountains project is a 25 - 30 hour per week role for a fixed term of 12 months. We will also consider proposals from a contractor to fulfil the project outcomes.

The project aims to reduce child poverty by supporting mothers in Taitokerau to be catalysts for change for the benefit of their tamariki. The unique dimension of this project is that it engages the wisdom, passion and love of mothers for their children. It is mothers who will move mountains for their children.

As the Coordinator, you will be required to support small groups of mothers (mothers circles) to lead change for their whanau in-line with each mother’s aspirations. You will coordinate the project, access community resources and link mothers to services/agencies to ensure project outcomes are achieved. The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, be confident working with groups, have good advocacy skills, be able to negotiate services and agencies and have a strong commitment to equity.
