Reservations / Conference Assistant

Heartland Hotel Auckland Airport

The primary responsibility of the position is the overall efficiency of the busy Reservations side of the Front Office while providing support to the Front Office team during their busy periods. You will also take responsibility for all conference enquiries / bookings.

A can-do attitude, great people skills, an excellent working knowledge of Hotel reservations systems and the ability to work within a diverse team are all pre-requisites to be successful within this role. A current General Managers certificate would be advantageous.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the busy flow of reservations via telephone and email
  • Assisting in the Front Office when required
  • Maintaining a professional work ethic
  • Ensuring the comfort and security of our guests
  • Dealing with conference enquiries and reservations
  • Assisting with staff training
  • Assisting with the implementation of Scenic Hotel Group policies and procedures

Previous experience within a Hotel Front Office is essential, as are strong communication and organisational skills. Applicants must possess a hands-on approach and excellent attention to detail. You will also be flexible in your availability as this role will require the candidate to work weekends and varying shifts.

A tertiary qualification in Hospitality or a minimum of two years experience in a similar role is a pre requisite for the successful candidate as is a full New Zealand Drivers License.
