Senior Legal Counsel - Kiwi Wealth

Kiwi Wealth is a 100% New Zealand owned and operated investment management business, helping Kiwis save and invest through our KiwiSaver Scheme, Super Scheme, Managed Funds and our Private Portfolio Service. We are now well established in the investment management space and continue to be a growing and complex business.

A new Legal, Risk and Compliance function has been created reporting into the General Counsel which will provide more effective delivery of legal services long term. We now have exciting new opportunities for experienced lawyers and are now recruiting.

Senior Legal Counsel

With proven experience in financial services and corporate/commercial law, reporting to the Head of Legal, you will work on a variety of interesting projects and other legal matters across our wealth business. Examples of work might include implementing legislative changes, establishing new fund products (wholesale and retail), advising on the development of digital propositions, reviewing fund compliance documentation and contract reviews. You'll have support along the way, but you will need to be a confident and capable self-starter who is comfortable working autonomously and being the legal lead on a range of projects.

What are we looking for?

  • Exceptional relationship management including an approachable nature and strong collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated experience providing pragmatic legal advice to enable colleagues to make the best decisions for our customers
  • Solid experience ideally in an inhouse environment, or large law firm in corporate/commercial and financial services legislation
  • Bias to action - to put it simply, you know how to get stuff done.

This is a great chance to contribute to a growing and award-winning organisation. You will be part of a friendly and supportive team and will have the opportunity to work alongside senior members of the organisation.

Applications close 3 February at 5pm, but we will review applications as we go and reserve the right to withdraw the advert at any time - so don't delay.
