Assistant Accountant

Our client is an industry leading business embarking on a large project. They are currently looking for an upbeat and hardworking Assistant Accountant to support the Finance team and wider business. This role will have you preparing and processing client and subcontract claims, updating and maintaining reports (financial and non-financial), reconciling accounts and analysing variances by completing bookkeeping and accounting duties for the project. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing, collating and reconciling monthly contractor and subcontractor claims.
  • Daily/monthly reconciliations - Bank, GL, Creditors, Debtors, Trial Balance.
  • Monthly reporting on Creditors, Debtors and time sheet reports.
  • Assisting in the preparation of Half yearly and annual Financial statements.
  • Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register.
  • GST, FBT, RWT returns.
  • General Accounts administration.

Key Skills and Experience
  • 2-3 years full time accounting experience 
  • A Degree in Accounting or Business
  • Intermediate/advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with Exonet would be preferred. 
  • Experience in a high volume role and a strong attention to detail.
